RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the modern replacement for the decades-old WHOIS protocol. It returns the same registration data in structured JSON instead of free text, supports internationalized domains, and standardizes access across registries. Nomlen queries RDAP endpoints where available and falls back to WHOIS, so you get the most complete record either way.
Lookups run through a throttled queue, so very large lists simply take longer while finishing reliably. The tool normalizes your list, removes duplicates, and checks each domain live against the registry. For single one-off checks, the standard whois checker is faster.
