FAQ

Domain health, explained.

Three things per domain: (1) WHOIS expiry — registration date, expiry date, and days remaining; (2) DNS — whether the domain resolves to an IP; (3) SSL — whether the HTTPS certificate is valid and when it expires. Results are graded healthy, warning, or critical.
Domains expire silently — renewal emails go to spam, auto-renew cards expire, and registrars don't always warn you. A lapsed domain means downtime, lost email, and sometimes losing the name to a squatter. Agencies and portfolio owners monitor dozens or hundreds of names for exactly this reason.
Up to 100 domains per scan, 3 free scans per day. Each scan runs live WHOIS, DNS, and SSL lookups on every domain, which takes about a minute for a full portfolio.
We read expiry dates directly from live WHOIS records at scan time. Registrars occasionally show stale data during grace periods, so treat dates within a few days of expiry as urgent and verify in your registrar dashboard.
A domain is critical if it's expired, its DNS doesn't resolve, or its SSL certificate is invalid. Warning covers domains expiring within 45 days or SSL certs expiring within 14 days. Everything else is healthy.
After a scan, save your portfolio with your email — we'll check it daily and notify you 30, 14, and 7 days before any domain expires, plus immediate alerts for DNS or SSL failures. Free, unsubscribe anytime. (Email delivery activates once our mail server is configured — watchlists are saved now.)
Scan results are processed in memory and never stored. Only if you explicitly save a watchlist do we keep your domains and email — solely to send you alerts. We never sell or share your data.
Look up the domain's WHOIS/RDAP record and read its expiration date; a checker does this for many domains at once and converts the dates into days remaining.
The site and email stop resolving, the name enters a grace period where renewal is still possible, then a redemption phase with higher fees, and finally it can be deleted and registered by someone else.
Yes — paste a list of domains and a bulk checker queries each registry record, flagging the ones expiring soonest so renewals can be prioritised.
Yes — an expired certificate triggers browser security warnings even when the domain itself is fine, which is why this monitor tracks SSL health alongside domain expiry.
